WENZEL as a long-standing metrology manufacturer, offers a wide range of solutions for gear metrology. Traditional CNC gear measuring equipment as well as CMM based gear inspection solutions. Our systems are suitable for a wide range of sizes, from typical industrial and automotive applications to large gears for power generation and transportation.

WENZEL has recently launched a new metrology software!  

The product has some indispensable features that set us apart from other providers and offer our customers an excellent service.  

This new software bridges the gap that our customers have in the production of gears.

WM | Gear represents a further development of our standard measurement package and provides a common platform for both gear metrology and classical inspection. Instead of developing a dedicated package just for gear inspection, WENZEL has extended the capabilities of our world-renowned WM | Quartis measurement software. This provides customers with a single solution that covers all metrology requirements!

The future of the new software

WM | Quartis is built on a highly modular platform that supports the release of new modules as market requirements change. Whether there are new standards or custom requirements, WENZEL will be able to support its customers. We are constantly adding new features to stay current. However, it is important to note that this is not just gear measuring software, but software for inspecting all workpieces. This means that it will grow with changing market requirements, even beyond gears.

What is the advantage of WENZEL?

The advantage of WENZEL is that we are fully focused on producing the most reliable measuring machines on the market.

From raw material, such as granite, to final assembly, we control the entire process. This vertical integration ensures that we can deliver consistent quality products, but also gives us the flexibility to adapt to market demands. For example, in 2020, we designed, manufactured and delivered a brand new system for a customer in less than six months, helping them meet their production needs and providing us with a new standard product.

What else is new?

The new generation of machines will be the first to have a common machine control with our CMMs. This will streamline the entire process, improve delivery time, simplify support and open a path to modernisation. New sensors, software and machine configurations will all be designed and built on this common platform to ensure that our technology can grow with changing customer requirements.

What does the future hold for metrology at WENZEL ?

We are always looking for ways to stay ahead of the demands of the manufacturing environment!

The two most important areas we are currently focusing on are non-contact inspection and Industry 4.0. Non-contact inspection, even for gears, can offer higher measurement throughput and more flexibility, helping users to measure more parts faster. Industry 4.0 is not just a big buzzword, it is also impacting production by changing the way we use data. The question will always be: How can we connect our measurement platforms to the larger factory environment and provide more transparency to our customers. That is what we are focusing on at the moment.
