WENZEL Metrology GmbH is delighted to be part of the innovative nexAMo project, which is being supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the "Digitalization of vehicle manufacturers and the supplier industry" funding measure. The project aims to develop a highly flexible and free-chain matrix production that enables unprecedented flexibility in manufacturing.
The project was officially launched on February 13, 2024, when ZF invited all ten project partners from industry and science to a kick-off meeting in Friedrichshafen. A demonstrator line that visualizes the concept of matrix production is to be set up here by 2026.
With a total budget of 16 million euros, financed by funding from the BMWK and investments from the project partners, nexAMo aims to fundamentally transform the production methods of vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. The aim is to realize economical and flexible matrix production that is particularly suitable for the production of small and medium series and sets new standards in the industry.
The WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG will contribute its expertise to optimize quality assurance and post-processing in the context of additive manufacturing. Together with the partners Fraunhofer IAPT, ZF Group, Grenzebach Group, Nikon SLM Solutions, ERLAS Erlanger Lasertechnik GmbH, FEHRMANN Materials, VisiConsult - X-ray Systems & Solutions GmbH, Supfina and the fir at RWTH Aachen University, we are working on the realization of this pioneering production method.
By integrating advanced technologies, flexible logistics and agile planning, the nexAMo project promises to significantly change the production of next-generation mobility products and successfully master the challenges of modern vehicle production.
